about

Two-minute section of the surviving live recording of Excepter's September 16th, 2009 performance at The Dionysus Disco, Oberlin College, Ohio, mirrored and then doubled, so that one hears the forward fragment, then the fragment both forwards and backwards simultaneously, then finally, backwards: a audio palindrome.
Over this is overdubbed a serially overdubbed recording of traffic sounds from various locations and times. The initial recording was made from inside a hotel bathroom, Vacaville, California, April 23rd, 2008, which was in turn played back into a hotel room, Chicago, Illinois, September 18th, 2009 and a new recording made combining the traffic sounds heard from the open window. The doubled traffic sound recording was then played back though the stereo of the car being driven by JWN and JFR back to NYC from Indiana on September 21st, 2009 and a new recording was made of this triple-tracked traffic sound.
Released 2010 on SIDE A of the "LATE" EP (Woodist)
SIDE A vinyl was cut in reverse so the needle was placed in the middle and the groove ran out to the edge.
